Paintings & Collages

I have created and exhibited visual art since 1990, and I have participated in five solo shows and over 30 group shows. In 1996 I was awarded an Emerging Artist Grant from the Durham Arts Council.

This spring I decorated another bowling pin for the Troika Music Festival fundraising auction called Pin Projekt. I transformed the pin into a doll with four different outfits (photos below: 1-5). The pin was very popular at the auction and helped raise money for the local music festival. Below (far right photo) is my pin from 2007. Larger photos of the pins at Flickr.

Puzzle Hunts

My friends and I design puzzle hunts for fun and for business. A puzzle hunt is similar to a scavenger hunt, only instead of collecting objects your team must solve riddles and puzzles to collect answers. If you collect enough answers you can discover and attempt to solve more complex puzzles and try to reach the finish line. Since 2004 we have created yearly puzzles for 200-300 scholars of the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation. We spend months creating puzzles, building props, hiring actors, and researching the event site. Past events included chasing a giant chicken, deciphering an LED display, talking with a mad scientist, interpreting modern dance, decoding a scene from a Shakespeare play, talking with live chess pieces, and visiting the planets.
